More Milne, More Moms

Yesterday I wrote about Winnie-the-Pooh‘s dedication. I admit that my brief analysis may have been looking forward a bit to the dedication to The House at Pooh Corner. Also beautiful, also understanding that Childhood and Motherhood will coexist eternally, and also expressing what Mom means to me more than I could ever express. So, without further ado:

You gave me Christopher Robin, and then
You breathed new life in Pooh.
Whatever of each has left my pen
Goes homing back to you.
My book is ready, and comes to greet
The mother it longs to see —
It would be my present to you, my sweet,
If it weren’t your gift to me.
